The Transplantation of the detached skin in a Degloving injury of the upper extremity


Abstract
Degloving of skin and subcutaneous tissue usually raised a tubed skin so grossly damaged and con¡þtaminated that it is poor tissue for reapplication.
Author experienced a case of complete degloving of the skin of left arm with the crushing injury of the distal two third of the foream and hand in a twenty-five-year old male.
It was successfully treated by the amputation of the crushed part and immediate reapplication of the detached skin as a whole thickness graft.
